New IRGC commander focusing on his strengths: WMD and assymetrical warfare
WASHINGTON — The new commander of Iran's elite military force is charged with developing weapons of mass destruction.A report by the Washington-based Middle East Media Research Institute asserted that Gen. Mohammed Ali Aziz Jaafari, the new commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), would focus on building Iran's military capabilities. The report said that unlike his predecessor, Jaafari was not involved in regime politics and would focus on enhancing Iran's missile arsenal.
"In speeches he has given since his appointment, Jaafari has outlined the strategy he means to promote as IRGC commander, reiterating his commitment to developing Iran's ballistic missile capabilities and the asymmetrical warfare capacities of the IRGC," the report, dated Sept. 19, said.

On Sept. 1, Jaafari replaced IRGC commander Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi in what was regarded as an unexpected appointment. Safavi, commander of IRGC for a decade, was replaced amid dissatisfaction by Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei with rising domestic unrest. Safavi was said to have threatened to resign several times as part of a power struggle.
Of course, the IRGC, which for all purposes can be considered to be Hizballah, and HAMAS, and the Waffen SS all rolled in to one for both internal and external purposes, WILL be either the instrument of the mullahs actions or the victim of the US and or Israel. It's one or the other, and if you don't believe me ..you SHOULD believe the people who are responsible for guessing with money about what is ahead. They are betting on THINGS, not nations, now.
"This reshuffle in the top command of the IRGC — the primary military mainstay of the Iranian regime — may be the result of a decision by Khamenei to remove Safavi from his post, perhaps in response to the growing threat of a military attack against Iran," the report said. "Alternatively, the change may have been prompted by Safavi himself."
The report said Jaafari retains extensive military experience and organizational skills. The new IRGC commander has been credited with developing Iran's intelligence and asymmetrical strategies as well as the nation's intermediate-range ballistic missile arsenal.
Jaafari, close to with Expediency Council secretary-general and former IRGC commander Mohsen "America is a paper tiger" Rezai, was also said to be an expert on the U.S. military. As IRGC army commander, Jaafari conducted a study of U.S. military capabilities and operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
"IRGC is closely monitoring enemy movements in the region," Jaafari said after his appointment in September. "We discern even its smallest movements. IRGC's excellent defensive and ballistic [missile] capabilities [constitute] one of our present advantages, and we aim to attain superiority."
MEMRI said Jaafari could be prepared to use IRGC against the United States and its allies. He has also threatened to strike Western interests outside of the Middle East.
"Jaafari has said in the past that, in the case of a confrontation with the West, Iran will be willing to employ the organizations under its influence," the report said.
So do we have the picture? Prepare for attacks at home if we, as it looks, and as it appears to be assume the image more oand more with each passing provocative message of intransigence - of being COMPULSORY to take these guys out, ...prepare for attacks at home, and on the ability to pump and transport oil from the middle east.
And the UN is a tool of this process, not a solution. Since 9/11 the UN has been a hindrance to the American people's personal and national interest. In other words, the real function of the UN is to stop the USA, and by function, therefore, to help along those who threaten our personal safety. THe UN has transmogrified to a center of racism (antisemitism) and truly prejudicial anti americanism. Just consider the real world actions of El Baradei, who acts continuously to allow more and more time to Iran. WHY?
Perhaps they no longer belong here, and should move themselves to Geneva, or some other nice place where can abuse their expense accounts
